About Our All-Volunteer Youth Baseball League Board of Directors

Our SYB Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to create a positive, organized, and enriching baseball experience for young athletes in our community. Comprised of parents, coaches, and community members, the board is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the league, from registration and scheduling to fundraising and field maintenance.

Each board member brings unique skills and a shared passion for youth sports, ensuring that our league operates smoothly, fairly, and in the best interests of our players. Their collective efforts allow us to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment where kids can learn the game of baseball, develop teamwork, and build lifelong memories.

Board Responsibilities & Roles

  • Leadership & Governance: Establishing league policies, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and upholding the league’s mission.
  • Operations & Logistics: Managing registration, scheduling games, coordinating umpires, and organizing tournaments.
  • Player & Coach Support: Setting league rules, providing training resources, and addressing any concerns that arise.
  • Financial Management: Handling sponsorships, fundraising efforts, and ensuring financial transparency.
  • Community Engagement: Communicating with parents, players, and the community through social media, email, and league events.
  • Facility & Equipment Management: Overseeing field maintenance, ensuring equipment safety, and keeping concession stands stocked.

As a 100% volunteer-run organization, the board depends on the dedication of its members and the support of the community. Their hard work allows young players to enjoy baseball without the high costs associated with professionally managed leagues.

The board’s efforts ensure that our league remains a fun, inclusive, and competitive program where children can develop skills, sportsmanship, and a love for the game. We are always looking for volunteers to help make the league a success—join us in making a difference!

Treasurer Manages financial affairs, updates board, pays invoices, and keeps records. Tracy Files
Registrar/Player Agent/Uniforms/Trophies Promotes registration, maintains website, creates schedules, and coordinates uniforms/trophies. Jason Boyd
Communications Officer/Social Media Officer Manages email, creates and distributes league communications via email, website, and social media. Diane Barry
Umpire in Chief Recruits umpires, schedules games, and manages umpire payments. Jackie Doucet
Babe Ruth Vice President Reviews and updates Babe Ruth league rules, manages conflicts, and frequently attends games. Mike Files
Major League Vice President Reviews and updates Major league rules, manages conflicts, and frequently attends games. Neil/Krissy Vale
Minor League Vice President Reviews and updates Minor league rules, manages conflicts, and frequently attends games.

Rookie/TBall & 4 Year Old Clinic Vice President Reviews and updates Rookie/Tball league rules, manages conflicts, and frequently attends games. Coordinates 4 year old clinic.  Rick Boynton
