2023 Spring Season Updates
We're excited to share that our T-Ball, Rookie, Minor and Major League Coaches will be reaching out to all players by the end of this weekend!! If for some reason you don't receive an email and/or phone call by Monday evening, March 6th, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at
[email protected]
.
For our Babe Ruth ballers, we have some upcoming, exciting news to share soon! We're finalizing details for a multi-town league play schedule, so please be on the lookout for communication in the coming weeks.
As for our youngest ballers, the 3/4 year old clinic participants, you will also be receiving specific details and schedule soon!
Looking ahead to the season, please read on for some helpful information and dates to save:
Practice & Game Schedules
Weather permitting, we're hopeful to begin practices at the beginning of April. IF the weather cooperates AND the fields are ready, we will do our very best to get teams out to practice sooner and will communicate if/when that is a possibility. Practice & Game Schedules will be posted on our website in the coming days. Coaches will also communicate these days and times to you.
Team Managers (Team parent) & League Volunteers
Coaches will be reaching out to parent(s)/guardian(s) on their team to be the Team Manager. This person will help Coaches streamline team communication as well as help coordinate your team's involvement with league event schedules, parade banners, etc. Please consider helping your Coach by being a Team Manager.
If you’re looking for other ways to get involved and help out with the league, we are always in need of volunteers, and there are several ways you can help. Snack shack help (it's not that scary, we promise), league event support (Parade, Jamboree Day & Summer Tournaments), Picture Day (helping to keep teams organized and moving things along), Complex maintenance and upkeep, and more. If you’re interested, you can reach out via email at
[email protected]
or sign up as a volunteer directly through our website.Elm Street Complex Spring Clean-UpDue to the inclement weather, the spring clean-up day has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 12th 10:30am-12:00pm. While the winter has been relatively good to us this year (knock on wood), there is still a good deal of work at the Elm Street & Babe Ruth Complexes: raking pine needles, branch, stick, and debris pick up, painting, etc. The more folks we have on hand to help, the better (and quicker) we can get this work completed. The league relies on volunteers for the great majority of the complex maintenance and upkeep. Please consider volunteering some time. This is a family friendly event as the kiddos are great at helping, too!
Additionally, if you or someone you know is willing to donate time and materials to painting at the complex (to include benches, snack shack, dugouts, etc.) please have them reach out via
[email protected]
. We have one of the best (if not THE best) youth baseball complexes in the area. The Board is invested in spending time and money on upgrading and beautifying the complex this year and we need all the help we can get!
Fundraiser: Calendar Sale
All players will be asked to participate in one of our larger fundraisers, selling calendars. More details will be forthcoming, however, families can expect to receive packets from their coaches during the first week of practice. Details and instructions will be clear, however, if you have any questions, you can ask the Coach or you can always reach out to your Divisions’s V.Ps.
This year’s Division V.P's are as follows:
T-Ball & Rookie: Mike Files (
[email protected]
)
Minors: Cory Chebator (
[email protected]
)
Majors: Tim Williamson (
[email protected]
)
Opening Day & Parade
This year's Opening Day and Parade will be on Saturday, April 22nd. We will share more details as it gets closer, however, please take note that the parade route will be different than in years past. This year, the parade will begin at the Babe Ruth Field on Drake Ave. All teams will be asked to be at the Babe Ruth field starting point by
8am sharp
. The parade will begin at 8:30am. This is a fun day for our entire organization! Your attention and cooperation to the details will be greatly appreciated as well as bringing lots of energy and excitement on that day, too! Majors and Minors teams WILL be playing games on Opening Day (this will be the only Saturday game for Majors during the season.)
Team Picture Day
This year's Team picture days are
tentatively
scheduled for Wednesday, May 10th & Thursday, May 11th. More details to follow, but please note that this is a change from years past. We're experimenting with a weeknight picture day this year in response to feedback from previous years. Hosting them on a weeknight will require teams to arrive much earlier on these two dates than they normally would for game time. We'll be sure to get those details out with ample notice.
League Communication & Information
We are regularly sending out communication via email and social media! If you aren’t doing so already, please be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Tik Tok!
